* Light levels
Number 1 of my main 9 canticles I plan to measure light levels throughout the filming of my project. This will include a large set of data recorded from a light level reader which I will take on the journey with me whilst filming.
I will record the level of light being picked up throughout my journey at set stages of the journey, I.E after every 30 second or every minute. From this I will collect all the data and produce my findings into one excel or XML sheet which I will then use to cover in the final stages of my project.
* Human environment – how much human/people activity happening
The human environment will be recorded after I have filmed the majority of journey, I have chose to record it this way as I won’t be able to record so many things at once, and mainly because it gives me an easier chance to go through the film once captured, and then I can produce the data of when these interactions occurred.
I will be mainly looking for any activity going on through the duration of the filming, this will cover, people walking, cyclists, groups of people all going about these normal days, these will all represent a part of the human interaction within my movie.
* Mechanical Environment – the amount of mechanics within the film – cars/lorries/traffic jams/traffic lights.
The way in which I will record the mechanical data will be done after the filming of the journey, the reasons why I chose to do a lot of the recording of certain data after the filming process.
This is because it will be extremely difficult to record several amount of data whilst taking my journey, so I will use the film recording to go through and record data, such as mechanical data.
I will record everything that I have classified under mechanical within the film, this includes every car lorry or general vehicle which is seen within the film, also I will record the length of traffic jams, how long I’m sat in any, also how long the traffic jams are, I.E from point A to point B, including all the sets of traffic lights I will go through on the journey.
From this, I will record this data using the timeline of the film, and how much mechanical data I have recorded on this timeline. Recording it into the xml sheet with the amount of mechanical data and at what time and for how long etc.
* Heat levels -looking at the heat of the time of the journey – inside the car/ outside temperatures changing.
I will be also measuring heat levels, these consist of the changing heat levels read from the temperature metre within the car, which measure inside and outside heat, but I will also use a heat reader/temperature meter to guarantee a good accurate reading for my xml sheet.
I will take many readings to show in depth, the change in heat in and outside the car, around every 30 second to 1 minute per reading, which will give me a lot a data to work with.
* Speed levels -this covers the speed at which the film will go also covering the outside environment moving.
Very similar to measuring the heat on the journey, I will record around every 30 seconds to 1 minute the average speed of the vehicle that I will be filming in. I will record this at these times to gather a lot of data to work with but also to show the range of speeds that I traveled at to get my data.
* Natural Environment -covering the area which is being filmed – amount of woodland/trees/shrubs/grass/parks
Recording the natural environment will be one of the 9 references which I will focus on after the filming has taken place, this is because I will have to go through the film to analyse the natural areas of the film, plus I will have to work with the timeline of the film to record the timings of them plus the sizes of them.
The natural environments that I will be recording data for include trees, bushes, grassland, parks, and anything natural or green, this is one of the main reasons I will have to analyse the data after the filming, as there will be a lot of this data so I will have to go through step by step to record this.
* Industrial environment – showing the amount of big building structures that are being film (Linking with Natural environment)
The industrial environments recording will link in a very similar way to natural and mechanical environments, as I will also have to film this reference after the filming of my journey.
The way in which I will film industrial environments will be to record (working with the timeline of the film) the journey but recording from this journey the industrial building, houses, centers etc around the journeys path, this will also include car parks, shopping centers, housing estates, and many more.
* Interaction levels -the amount if interaction in different places of the journey – what happens within the journey.
The interaction levels which I will record at the moment could be anything, firstly I will gather the filming data, and then I will process the data and go through the film to analyze the interactions which happen throughout this journey.
The interaction could be anything such as people talking to each other, people cleaning the road, and any happens I will come across on the filming of the journey.
This reference is a very loose reference at this point in time as I will only know if it will work properly once I have my filming data.
* Weather Levels (General) -
looking at how (hopefully) the weather will change over the time of filming the journey.
Reference 9 is to measure the weather, this will be done , hopefully if the weather does change, by using what I would film and monitoring the change in weather, this will link to the heat, speed, and light references from above.
