Production of Space
What? – The project
The project is based around the relationship of two people meeting up for the Christmas break after both finishing at university. One currently is living in Plymouth, The boyfriend, and the girlfriend is on her way back to Plymouth from university up country. The narrative is based around the boyfriend being extremely hung-over the night before and forgetting everything that he had to do for the following day such as pick up his girlfriend from the station.
Because of this drunken and erratic behavior the night before, and his girlfriend warning him about doing this, he is now in a rush to try to meet her, and the consequences of his actions follow in the film.
Where? The shooting of the film and area of study/site
The scene is set in three parts, the first scene is at his house, which is the filming of the boyfriend waking up and realizing the consequences of last night. Recording all the happening of someone trying to get up in a rush, this ends with the boyfriend, rushing out the front door.
Part 2 of the filming is the main focus of the whole project, the journey from the house to the train station. This was filmed from my student accommodation in Lipson, to the train station in Plymouth city centre. This is the most critical part of the filming as this is the part I will use all the collected data from this journey to create an abstracted visual journey through the boyfriends eyes.
Why? – The purpose of the filming?
I chose this style of project as I wanted to incorporate a lot of visual effects and after effects styles into the main journey of the project. Also the purpose of filming is also to show the consequences of heavily drinking the day before you are needed somewhere, or have something important to do, this all relates to relationship and issues between boyfriend and girlfriend.
The style of the journey I will try to put across is the blurry eyed hung over boyfriend in a mad rush to not get into too much trouble by the girlfriend but because of the night out with the lads the night before he has now come to pay for his actions.
Who? – Who is involved?
The main person who I have focused the journey is the boyfriend. Focusing on his rush through the day to try and make it up to his girlfriend. I have focused the filming on an eye level recording, so it looks like the view through the eyes of the boyfriend. Also the data from this film recording will be represented within the film such as the amount of heat, speed, human mechanical interaction for example.

For the presentation I plan to present all of the above information with added references of the playing of the journey and other add clips o have recorded. Also I have planned to go through and explain the reasons for my data collection and how I plan to build the final product with all my gather bits and pieces.
