Space – Main journey

to add to the videos that i have previously posted which where the videos for the sides of my car journey, this one will be the main focus of the whole project, being projected right in front of you as you watch. this video is the cut down version of what i will be using as it was extremely large to post on here.

i will be using this video to cut up and develop into my final peice and will demonstrate some of the key factors within my project which is advertsing a drink driving advert .

Space – Production so far

The production so far is going very well, the blog is fully up to date and the production of the videos are about to start.
also the chair i have brought as part of my project is now is development and will be ready in 2 weeks, this will be fitted with a frame to keep it strudy and possibly a recline on it as it if it placed in the dome the chair will be able to move positions depending on how the movie is played. a seat belt if also being fitted to created a better immersive atmosphere to the chair and the whole environment.

video production is just getting underway with all 3 separate videos being produced then being stitched together.

Space – The Chair

for my space project i have included a car seat for the seating area for any user viewing my journey or space presentation.
the reason for this is because i have tried to make my project the most immersive as it can be and by adding something directly related to my projects journey content this will make the user feel completely within the environment.

Space – The Intended messages

The aim of my project is to send out certain messages towards the issue of drink driving, but across a interactive path thruogh a journey. in plain english, to send out messages to the users about the awarness of drink driving through the process of a journey and not just taking a journey, but the things that distract the users from the concentration fo that journey, so for example playing around with interior parts of a car, such as the cd player and the dash of the car, trying to do oter things rather than keeping concentration on the road ahead.
i will also be trying to show the user the lack of concentration throughout the film with views appearing from the left and right of the screens which represent the left and right windows of a car, showing how easy it is to get distracted by things such as the exterior environment, human interaction, industrial changes and movements and other road users, through the space they are traveling through.

Space – Presenting

ideas for presenting struck me as i didnt know the best way to present on the 1st April. so i had to brainstorm and come up with the best ways of presenting this project ot get the best marks . the first idea for presetning was to take the ideas from the Orange advert featuring Mark Beaumont, where he is riding his bike surrounding by 4 projectors with indepth film on them about his life and the around the world trip he took on his bike.

This style of advert was what i hope to achieve but on a smaller scale, as i did not have the resources to fund the same sized project. i wanted to create the same interactive feel of this advert, making the user feel like there are within the project and feel the immersive side of my project. the project came suddenly crashing into problems as the resources where clearly going to cost a lot of money to get hold of, but as i didn’t have this sort of funding i had to create something that cost less.

as the money situation for this exstensive project was at the best, i chose to use less screens in my project focusing on one main one infrom of the user and one either side to represent the side views of the car. but then am idea was suggested to me for my presentation, which was to use my videos on the inflatable dome which is situated within the building of babbage in the unversity, this would create a more interactive and dynamic fell to the  user and create a good viewing for anyone using it , so this was another option, and a lot more of a cheaper version as all the equipment was there waiting to be used , so i have decided to explore this idea more in depth to see what prossiblilties there are with using the inflatable dome.

these ideas would all be accompanied by my car seat which i have brought to be a part of my product as it will be the main seating area for which the user will sit to view my project.

Space – The Content

from my videos i will be using after effects and premiere to pull out and create a main fouc on certain content to focus the viewer on.
these areas of focus and content i will be covering are Speed of environment, human interaction, overall environment, and inductrial focus.

a brief description of what i plan to do with this data: -

Speed of environment – the speed of the enviroment that i have filmed will be the biggest focus within the whole project, using premeire and after effects to pull out the objects which are traveling or moving at speed. creating a 3 level speed area, this is a difference in speed from the viewers point of watch, so for example if something speeds past in the video, it will firstly speed past at high speed then as it dissapears into the distance it will slow up as the focus of this object is fading.
looking and focusing on the speed will hopefully create a dynamic fell to the video and production of the videos for the project, bringing out more than just a video , creating a very flowing interactive and dynamic effect to the video.

Human interaction – i have chosen to focus on human interaction as this is one of the things that is looked at when driving, looking out of the side windows moving your ingaging levels, so where you are focusing on at certain points of the journey.
i mainly chose this to focus on as it represents an area of los of concentration when driving, moving the focus of looking at the road to the cd player or area within the car, and areas of the environment , so looking around and moving the focus from the front, to the left and right.

industrial enviroment – i wanted to focus on the industrial environment (Houses, pubs, warehouses, buildings, ) as this is another area which can be focused on with a change of direction, i want to try and bring out the buildings throughout the video, making them look blod and out of the video as much as they can be. this is another focus area where drivers and passengers would change there focus of the journey to look and focus on things that are strking throughout the film and this is what i and trying to do.

Space – New Videos

so i have finally filmed my material which i will be using in the final peice of my space project, i have filmed it in 3 separate stages, the first stage is the view from the front of the car this will represent the view of passengers and drivers of cars through the front windscreen of a car.
the other 2 parts of the video are views from the left and right sides of the car out of the passenger windows, this will hopefully give the effect of objects and the environment passing the car as the film progresses.

Space – Filming that didnt go quite to plan

so after a night of filming and testing the cameras on night mode this is what they came out like, to my disappointment not very well, the night mode on the camera was quite poor and didn’t work at all really, so i have planned to re film it, possibly a bit earlier in the evening so it is not too dark.
i will hope to film this at a bit better quality hopefully with a night mode camera and again hopefully get some good content which i can actually use.
