IDAT is the current program I am studying at Plymouth University. It covers a range of different programs and applications and also coding languages. These include all Adobe software, 3D packages such as 3Dmax, JavaScript, asp, php, flash actionscript 2.0 & 3.0, xml, Xhtml and Css.
i-DAT is a creative playground for trans-disciplinary practice at the interface between art, technology and science.
i-DAT aims to define and establish new fields of practice and critical discourse in the context of emergent technologies and cultural forms, new scientific paradigms, and new media art – telematic, interactive, generative, architectural, technoetic, performative, sonic, transgenic, transmedia.
i-DAT integrates teaching, research and enterprise, as well as other creative output to disseminate its activities to its community and wider public.
The aims of the course.
- to provide an interface and catalyst for dynamic interactions between industry, the arts and science.
- to define and establish new fields of practice through research in the creative and innovative use of digital media through multidisciplinary collaboration.
- to enrich human experience and extend public awareness of these new developments and their relevance to education, culture, and industry.
- to support research and learning of international standing involving practitioners from a diversity of cultural environments.
- to provide a supportive environment for innovative collaborations between artists, scientists and researchers in emergent fields of practice.
- to define new directions and territories by challenging existing orthodoxies and separations of academic, arts and commercial institutions.
- to develop theoretical discourses of emergent practice based upon the integration of science, technology and art.
